WALE - "THE ROAD TO ATTENTION DEFICIT" :: NEW MUSIC MONDAY
[FROM HHU]
With the release of his single, the announcement of his promo tour as well as the release date for his next official mixtape, "Back to the Feature," we felt it was perfect timing to put together a nice compilation of Wale's work up until this point.
This compilation mixtape includes work from his past mixtapes (Paint a Picture, Hate is the New Love, 100 Miles & Running, The Mixtape About Nothing), as well as some live material and rarer freestyles. This is similar in style to our Cudi mixtape, that's done almost 11,500+ Downloads so far.
We set out to call it the "Road" to Attention Deficit (his upcoming Interscope album) because his career has been a journey thus far - so we included live audio from the UK, Australia, California, etc. that captures his journey around the world.
Big shout to our partner with this mixtape, Modi over DCtoBC, and to our graphics guys (and they should be yours too!) Eddy N Pizzle. Also thanks to HHU members Clif Soulo (who initially thought of the project), Tha Advakit and K-TO.

ROCK MIKEY & GORDO BREGA :: HOSTED BY DRE ALL DAY
EXCUSE THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO. I HEARD THIS TRACK LIVE AT PURE THE OTHER NIGHT AND YOU CANT GET THE FULL EFFECT OF THE SONG UNTIL YOU'VE HEARD IT LIVE. HOWEVER, WHAT YOU CAN HEAR VERY CLEARLY IS DRE ALL DAY, AND WHAT HE HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE MUSIC GAME. I DON'T CARE HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS DUDE, BUT WHAT HE SAID COULDN'T HAVE BEEN ANY MORE CLEARER! CHECK IT OUT...
WOOSIE ADDRESSES THE CONTROVERSY
DCSuperSid: You've got the internet buzzing with your recent video (with DJ Vlad). Do you have beef with Marky and Studio 43?
WOOSIE: Marky??? Kenny ??? - The "O Sheila" guy, OK, I know him. That kid (Marky) is still driving around in his mother's car. KB (Kenny Burns) walked him in Universal and got him a deal. Have you ever seen this nigga? Have you ever heard him on the radio? OK, my point is why does he have a deal?
I used to treat this lil nigga (Marky) like family. I gave him the clothes off my back. He didn't even know what Louis Vuitton was. To make a long story short - he's not official! He's from Waldorf (MD). They were going online making comments on my videos trying to get people to slander my character, so fuck Kenny Burns, Marky, and all the Studio 43 "get wits". I'm not hard to find. I'm not hiding from them, they're ducking me. When we were in California at the VMA's (Video Music Awards), me and my men went to his hotel and him and his producer were nowhere to be found. I still have the voicemails and text messages to prove it (he ducked me).
I'm always in my hood (River Terrace) just hanging out, doing videos, doing blogs, whatever. When will Marky do something in Kenilworth? The real Kenilworth, not some side street where no one is.

DIAMOND DISTRICT DOCUMENTARY & TRACK
Get to know new DC Hip Hip group "The Diamond District"
Filmed by T. Purnell for Packing Light Productions & Humble Monarch
Edited by Humble Monarch
[FROM VIMEO]
The District of Columbia is home to our nations politics and some of the wealthiest African Americans in the country. It is also home to one of the nations largest income gaps with some of the highest crime, murder and STD rates. It is the culmination of these statics that defines DC Hip Hop. Oddisee (producer/MC from Prince George's county, Maryland) formed this group with solo artist, XO and YU. The idea was to create a mid-90's boom-bap themed record for the DC, Maryland & Virginia metropolitan area. XO, (born & raised in North West DC) defines what it is to be a black male raised in the district, with lyrics that have a way of philosophizing that street life. Oddisee defines the experience of growing up in black middle class Maryland. Bordering the poverty his and many other families fled to escape, they found the troubles of the inner city came along with them. YU, having been raised in the district, Maryland & Virginia, shows that DC culture exceeds it's 10 mile radius. "In The Ruff" is the DMV's soundtrack. its street savvy, politically conscious lyrics and grimy beats depict life in and around our nations capitol.

WALE "BACK TO THE FEATURE" INFO & LEAK
MESSAGE FROM WALE ON TWITTER:
So I wanted to make a mixtape that was different than any of my previous mixtapes. Paint A Picture and Hate Is The New Love were my first two when I was just the young, hungry rapper from MD by way of DC. I was just trying to show I could spit. I truthfully had no direction, I just wanted people to hear me. 100 Miles & Running was after I hired a manager and linked up with Catchdubs, so we went about creating something a little more cohesive showing I could create “intelligent” rap but it was just my mellow mood; some chill shit. The Mixtape About Nothing was showing that I could do a concept album/mixtape. I appreciate the love and critical acclaim I have gotten for it but Back To The Feature is taking it back to the fun days in hip hop when artists worked with each other for the love and not for the checks or politics. It’s an easy listen; no controversy, no dramatic records. It’s pure hip hop from artists that love to listen to. It’s collaborations with me and other artists like Joe Budden, Currensy, Joell Ortiz, Tre frm UCB, Drake, Bun B, J Cole, Talib Kweli, Royce the 5′9″, XO, Kenn Starr and many others. Here’s another leak:

"This record here is a heart-felt joint I did once I started to notice a change in people around me. The subtle-tone on the track embodies my state of mind. This is actually one of my favorite cuts."
[FROM UNIVERSAL]
[FROM UNIVERSAL]
Universal Records/SRC/Studio43's artist Marky from Washington, D.C. will be releasing mini-album (mixtape phase is over y'all) "Nothing is 43ver" on 4.3.09. "Delusional" is his first release off the project. This is a track that takes you on a journey through the everyday life of Marky and demonstrates his lyrical repertoire. Marky's vivid imagery along with the amazing production of label-mate AB the Producer provides an instant classic.
As we know, the DMV has definitely been an area that has increasingly been getting a buzz and Marky is one of the key talents that shines from the DC area with a diverse flow. So, listen to the track and let it marinate, get ready for 4.3.09. Let us know if you post up the track by sending us your link. We will definitely show you love on Marky's blog and Twitter. Second leak, coming NEXT WEEK! Stay Tuned...
We here at 43ntourage are just as much about the fans as we are about the music...Enjoy the track because "Nothing is 43ver"
Peace.

WALE & TABI DISS..SMH
UNLIKE THE OTHER PREVIOUS ATTEMPTS BY D.M.V. ARTIST, I WAS TOLD THAT THIS ISN'T A RANDOM ACT OF "HATE" ON A TRACK. I THOUGHT THIS STUFF BETWEEN D.M.V RAPPERS COMING UP AND MAJOR RAPPERS IN THE AREA WAS OVER. [SMH] THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO GET KNOWN. THATS NOT WHAT'S HOT IN THE STREETS. ACCORDING TO FTDMVO, GARVEY HAS JUST REASONS!? JUDGE FOR YOURSELF...
