JUDAH GETS COMPLEX
[FROM SASHA]
(July 20, 2009)--- Ten years strong and people wonder why he holds so much weight. Judah, a long time pro-DMV hip-hop producer, received recognition as Grey Goose Entertainment's Local Rising Icon and is featured in Complex Magazine. Through his art, the humble music maker has participated in the emergence of many locally and nationally recognized artists. Now its his turn to shine, possibly on television.
BET Networks, along with Grey Goose vodka will debut an eight-part TV and concert series titled "Rising Icons" to
record the trek of eight emerging artist: Chrissette Michelle, Wale, Kid Cudi, Keri Hilson, Hal Linton, Melanie Fiona, Ryan Leslie and The Dream. The series will document the artists while they are at home and their trips on the road.
Under that premise, Complex Magazine presents "Local Rising Icons", which taps into 11 cities (Chicago, Charlotte, Atlanta, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Miami, New York City and Washington, DC) and investigates heavy-hitting artists in those markets. Onlookers can vote for Judah to appear on stage with the televised "Rising Icons" on the September 5th BET Networks Special.
Judah is one of 3 artists, including music affiliate Tabi Bonney, to be selected as a Local Rising Icon for Washington, DC.
